Liverpool and Manchester City are set to be snubbed in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain ace Adrien Rabiot.

The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and will be able to leave on a free transfer but PSG are now considering selling the player in January with Barcelona currently the frontrunners to land him.

Adrien Rabiot celebrates scoring against Amiens.

It had been suggested that he may decide to stay put at the Parc des Princes by penning improved terms with PSG.

But there are a number of major European clubs hoping to snap him up, either in January or on a free in the summer.

City and Liverpool have both been regularly credited with an interest in the gifted 23-year-old but Barcelona’s interest has been looming large for months.

Rabiot drives forward with the ball at his feet.

And Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has reported that Rabiot has now agreed to join the Catalan club instead of staying in Paris.

It has been suggested that the player’s mother and representatives have already met with Barca technical director Eric Abidal, the former defender, to thrash out a deal.

However, there is still nothing signed so all hope is not yet lost for the rest of the chasing pack.
