Liverpool reportedly have the upper hand on Barcelona in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot.
The midfielder is set to leave the French champions on a free at the end of the season after rejecting offers to extend his stay in Paris.
And according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Reds have made a “powerful” offer for Rabiot in a bid to convince him to sign.
Liverpool have been interested in the 23-year-old but face competition from Barca and Tottenham.
Rabiot has performed well for Les Parisiens this season – scoring two goals in 15 games as PSG sit top of Ligue 1 having won all of their opening twelve top-flight matches.
If he does move to Anfield, it could see Fabinho move the other way after stories emerged the Liverpool midfielder is “bored” in Merseyside after signing from Monaco in May.
Fabinho, 25, has played just six times under Jurgen Klopp and has failed to cement his place in the starting XI.
Rabiot could feature against the Reds when PSG host Liverpool in the Champions League on November 28. Klopp’s side won the reverse fixture 3-2 in September.
