Juventus star Adrien Rabiot puts Liverpool on red alert with comments about club

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has fuelled speculation of potential move to Liverpool this summer.

The 27-year-old is out of contract with the Serie A giants at the end of the campaign and could be available on a free transfer.

Rabiot has revealed his admiration for Liverpool, citing Steven Gerrard as one the reasons of his love for the Reds.

“I loved Liverpool a lot because I was a bit fan of Steven Gerrard, who made me dream… and so therefore I followed the Reds,” the Frenchman told Tuttosport.

He then went on to add: “My other idol was Zinedine Zidane.”

Rabiot was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, and is expected to depart the Allianz Stadium at the end of the season.

The France international proved his worth at the World Cup, helping his side reach a second successive final, only to lose out to Argentina.

He has also played over 200 games for Paris Saint-Germain, before making over 150 appearances for current club Juventus.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are keen to bolster their faltering and ageing midfielder, with Klopp expected to revamp lacklustre side.

Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita are expected to leave for free on the expiry of their contracts, while Arthur will head back to parent club Juventus, having failed to play a single Premier League minute.

James Milner may also depart on a Bosman, but could be retained for a further year, should he take a pay cut.

There also questions marks over the futures of long-term stalwarts Fabinho, and skipper Jordan Henderson, and it remains to be seen if they remain at Anfield next season.
