Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is believed to be heading to Barcelona, bringing an end to Tottenham’s long standing interest.
The 23-year-old has a year left on his contract and rather than risk losing him for free when his current deal expires, the French champions have decided to sell him.
French publication, Le Parisien, report that new manager Thomas Tuchel doesn’t see keeping Rabiot, who has been linked with moves away for the last few seasons, as a priority and PSG could even get up to €40m for the player.
And it is thought the Liga champions are in advanced negotiations to sign him.
Rabiot caused outrage in France ahead of the World Cup when he refused to be a member of Didier Deschamps’ standby list.
I was obviously surprised. I can understand his immense disappointment but Im convinced he made a huge mistake,” the manager said.
Hopefully it will help him grow up and think. When you play at the highest level, you can let your emotions take over. Im surprised because he is a young player with only a few caps.
